Regardless, these shortcuts made me just a little bit faster-and that, in itself, was thrilling enough. I never stood a chance against my older brother. Turn the notification sound off as well, sounds become grating and will frustrate you more.Just kidding. It did wonders for my mental health and I could take a step away from the laptop for 5 or 10 minutes without getting pinged. Seriously though, I don't know if you have Slack installed on your phone but if you do, mute it. This is a little outside the box and it really depends on your relationship with your boss but you could start being deliberately petty, and respond to every message in a Thread. There is something like this every 5 minutes. *tsh knock knock knock* but I am getting 113 *tsh knock knock knock* Your excel says 115 *tsh knock knock knock* The JPY looks off to me *tsh knock knock knock* Can you double check somethign? To give y'all an idea of what I'm witnessing, here is an example from 10 minutes ago: How do I tell this guy to stop FUCKING TEXTING AND USE SLACK CORRECTLY. Before people tell me to leave, I joined a year ago and am close to a promotion so I don't want to leave or switch teams. The noise doesn't end and I can't mute him because if I don't respond immediately, I get reprimanded. I'm honestly near a breaking point mentally. He wants near immediate replies and our director uses the same style of Slacking and is of the same opinion, so I don't have support from her either. The problem is that I cannot just simply mute his pings as he is my manager. In response, he told me to edit my notification settings. I've told him to please use proper Slack etiquette and to just make one longer slack post on a topic as the constant noise is getting to me. We constantly have a revolving door of asks or items, so there is a steady stream of various people pinging. Our team is a highly critical team, so many people interface with us on a variety of issues. I have little to no silence in my day as he makes one sentence fragment after another. This is extremely frazzling and is honestly draining on my mental health as the slack message notification is going on nonstop. I have a manager that treats almost all of his messages in Slack like he's texting.
